Obama Wins Delegate Votes Clinches Democratic Nomination

The headlines coming out will soon all be that Barack Obama clinches enough delegate votes to be the Democratic candidate for President. Most likely Hillary Clinton as hard as it will be for her will concede sometime tonight or early tomorrow. In other words it’s a wrap and Barack will be the Democratic candidate whether you like it or not.

Nuttv has been pretty unbiased about any of the candidates for President including McCain, Obama or Clinton. No spin here! Yet that is. It will be interesting to see how Hillary concedes and if I were a betting man, which I am by the way I would lay the odds at about 100% that she goes out with class and throws her full support to Barack Obama. Something that needs to be done in our opinion. It’s time to wrap it up for the democratic primarys and the democrats need to move onto the general election.

Will the democratic party be able and willing to unite? I think in the next week if not days we will see what direction that will go in. My guess is that the democratic party for the 2008 presidential elections will be one of the strongest that we have ever seen in the history of the party. Only on one or two conditions though. The condition being that if Hillary Clinton wants the nomination for Vice President Barack must offer it to her. No ifs, buts or whatever. If she doesn’t want to be on the ticket then another way to pull the party together is for Barack Obama to offer Hillary Clinton the Vice President spot on the ticket and to let her turn it down which would pull some of Hillary’s supporters to his side just for making the gesture. Remember she won something like 17 million votes during the primary race.

In my opinion if Barack Obama completely blows off Hillary Clinton for the Vice Presidential slot then the presidential general election will be similar to the last two elections we have had, to close to call. Here is why I’m thinking this. I’ve heard personally from people as most of you probably have that one side or the others supporters won’t vote for the opponent. Meaning I’ve heard a Barack Obama supporter say I will not vote if Hillary Clinton wins the nomination. I’ve also heard people say including my own mother unfortunately that they will not vote this year if Barack Obama wins the presidential nomination for the Democrats. Don’t worry I am working on her and it’s not a racial thing with her. It’s that she is that strong of a Hillary supporter just like hundreds of thousands of others are for Hillary and vise a versa for Barack Obama.

For whatever reason people seem to think no matter what the Democrats will sweep the general election and are pretty much blowing off John McCain. If your one of those people thinking that Barack Obama can do it on his own, without the help of Hillary Clinton you are sooo wrong. The democratic base has to recognize the amount of votes that Hillary won and the supporters she has. She did win swing states that Obama may and most likely will have a harder time winning without Hillary on the ticket.

Can the tow get along after a hard fought campaign for the Democratic nomination which sometimes got a little ugly? Absolutely!!! Do they actually hate each other? No!!! Is there a little bit of bad blood between the two of them? Perhaps but probably a little more so on the Clinton side of the isle. Remember this election was Hillary’s turn in her eyes and her supporters eyes. Three words to those people if you want to have a Democrat in the presidential office come January 2009. Get Over It! Hillary lost and now is the time for the democratic party to unite. Unite meaning a Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton ticket for the democrats. Anything short of that ticket and the Republicans will be smiling. All just an opinion and remember the source, nuttv which is normally clueless but pretty close to being right a lot of the time.

That said Congratulations to Barack Obama for winning the democratic nomination to run for President. Congratulations to all those who voted for the first African American to run in the general election under the Democratic party ticket. Be proud because this is a milestone that will go down in the history books. If the ticket is Obama and Clinton it will also be another one for the history books when and African American and a Women are elected to the white house. Enough said!!!
